Soen Indo

PT Soen Indonesia was built in that earlier rhythm, where materials were chosen slowly, relationships were built over time, and quality was something you could feel without explanation.

For more than forty years, our fabrics have lived quietly inside garments, hotel rooms, and everyday rituals. They are not meant to shout. They are meant to last.

We believe fabric is a foundation. It carries memory, function, and responsibility. Whether worn, slept on, or lived with, the right material shapes experience long after it leaves our hands.

This is the spirit behind PT Soen Indonesia and its flagship store, Duta Silk House. A place where selection is intentional, guidance is honest, and relationships matter more than transactions.

Who We Are

PT Soen Indonesia is a heritage fabric house shaped by time, discernment, and enduring trust.

For more than four decades, we have quietly supplied textiles to designers, manufacturers, and hospitality partners who understand that fabric is not an embellishment, but a foundation. We do not follow seasonal noise or visual excess. Instead, we focus on materials chosen with intention, fabrics that perform, age well, and remain relevant long after trends fade.

At the heart of our work is long-term partnerships. Many of our relationships span generations, built not through promotion, but through consistency, transparency, and presence. Clients return because they know what to expect, and because what they receive is exactly what is promised.

Our Heritage and Legacy

Soen was founded over 40 years ago in Surabaya by the family’s grandfather, at a time when access to quality textiles in Indonesia was limited and knowledge about fabric was scarce.

From the beginning, the philosophy was clear and restrained: offer honest materials, explain them truthfully, and price them with integrity. As the business grew, the second generation expanded to Jakarta and Bali, establishing several fabric houses under different names while carrying forward the same values.

PT Soen Indonesia became one of the earliest fabric importers in the country, sourcing directly from China and Europe to support Indonesia’s growing fashion, garment, and hospitality industries.

Today, the third generation remains directly involved. Knowledge is not archived or romanticised, but practised daily through sourcing, selection, and conversation. Legacy, here, is not about preservation for its own sake, but about long-term partnerships through relevance.

Our Approach

We believe curation is a responsibility.

Rather than offering excess, we focus on materials that deserve longevity in wardrobes, hotel rooms, and shared spaces. Care is given to yarn quality, weave structure, finishing, and performance, particularly yarn-dyed fabrics known for their colour depth and durability.

Our role is advisory rather than persuasive. We speak openly about what a fabric can and cannot do, guiding decisions based on suitability, use, and lifespan rather than impulse.
